Dispute Resolution

Our team is accomplished in representing clients in complex disputes, whether arbitration, mediation or litigation. We represent clients in commercial litigation before various Saudi courts, both on first instance and appeal, as well as different committees (e.g. Banking Dispute Committee, Insurance Dispute Committee…). Additionally, our team has experience as counsel and arbitrators in institutional and ad hoc arbitrations, and we advise clients under the rules of a variety of international arbitration centers. We also have extensive experience in debt collection.

Sample of our team’s experience:

• Advised clients in the annulment of proceedings relating to a SAR 1,000,000,000 promissory note

• Represented a regional bank in claims exceeding SAR 150,000,000 before Saudi courts, including the Banking Dispute Committee

• Advised clients on the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards before specialized Saudi Enforcement Courts

• Advised a global advisory company in the corruption proceedings brought by the attorney general against a member of an affiliate’s senior management, as well as on how such proceedings could affect its activities in Saudi Arabia

• Advised a regional construction company in its disputes with the main contractor on the Riyadh metro project

• Advised Saudi investors in relation to their dispute with the Republic of Egypt resulting from the expropriation of lands included in their touristic resort in Egypt and the withdrawal of building permits. Also advised them in relation to the presentation of their claims against the Republic of Egypt before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (“ICSID”)

• Extensively represented real estate developers in disputes, whether litigation or arbitration, with contractors, consultants and other stakeholders

• Represented a regional holding company in its disputes with three (3) regional banks relating to its syndicated loan that was intended to be settled through the assignment of the revenues from the sale of shares it owned in a bank

• Extensively represented clients in respect with financial claims, as well as in debt collection matters
